Hey, I'm Ayush

Good ideas deserve big attention.

I've spent 15 years building companies on the internet — first making things people wanted to watch, now building the companies that make great ideas impossible to ignore. Founder of OWLED and The Nest. Creator, author, and regular angel investor.

01 A little bit of my story

I grew up in Rohtak, a small town in Haryana where barely anyone had internet access when I began. I started creating videos as a kid. Before I understood business, I understood the thrill of putting something online and seeing a stranger care about it.

That obsession led me through YouTube, travel filmmaking, freelance gigs, and studying at BITS Pilani. Most of what I know about building came from having to make something good — on a real deadline, for a real person, with very little room for excuses.

Eventually I started OWLED, bootstrapped. What was once me and a camera became a team working on films, launches, campaigns and distribution for companies including Google, Apple, Gamma and Wispr Flow.

Now, through The Nest, I'm trying to build a much wider ecosystem around media, technology, creators and attention. Different ventures; the same curiosity.

No master plan. Just obsessive curiosity.
2010 / Make

A camera. A laptop. An internet connection.

In 2010, I started experimenting with videos using a camera, laptop and internet connection. The internet was the classroom.

Long before the company, there was just curiosity and the internet.
02 / Learn

I learned by making things.

Filmmaking, freelance projects, traveling, editing. The best education was a deadline and someone trusting me with their story.

Somewhere along the way, a hobby became the work.
03 / Build

One person turned into a team.

OWLED taught me sales, culture, execution, leadership and how to earn trust. We built it the old-fashioned way: one client and one project at a time.

04 / Next

Now I'm building an ecosystem.

Campaigns, creators, media properties, education, angel bets. The question is still: how do we help great people and products break through?

02 What I'm building

The Nest is a group of companies we've built, acquired, or taken a stake in. The ambition is to build a family of specialized marketing and distribution solutions for brands around the world.

There are businesses I run and build with my teams, and there are companies we've invested in or acquired. Here's how they fit together.

Vyre

A quick-commerce accelerator helping brands grow in the channel.
A personal-branding agency for founders.

These are strategic company-level investments and acquisitions, separate from my personal angel portfolio below.

The common thread: storytelling, attention and distribution — built as complementary capabilities, not a collection of unrelated businesses.

03 I wrote a book. Really.

I don't talk about this enough, but after years of freelancing I wrote The One Person Startup. It came from seeing just how much talent and entrepreneurial ambition exists among independent creators — and how often we underestimate them.

The book

The One Person Startup

Every freelancer is running a business. They do sales, marketing, operations, product and delivery — sometimes all before lunch.

I wrote this to help freelancers think bigger about what they're building and take their own ambition seriously.

04 A few things I believe

↗Distribution is a superpowerCreating is half the work. Knowing how to make it matter is the other half.
✳People > everythingBuild with people you'd bet on. Pay great people well. Help them win.
◈Taste is underratedSpeed gets copied. Taste, judgment and care are harder to replicate.
◎Bootstrapping is a featureIt taught me to make thoughtful bets, earn trust and stay close to customers.
⌁Creators are businessesGreat creators increasingly shape decisions, products and commerce.
✦Stay curiousThere's a lot of fun in being new at something again. I intend to keep doing it.

05 Backing builders

I've invested in 40+ companies across the US and India. I love backing ambitious founders who are building products people genuinely care about — from AI and software to consumer brands and the next generation of internet businesses.

I try to bring more than a cheque. My most useful contributions are usually around positioning, launch strategy, content and distribution — helping exceptional products reach the people they deserve to reach.

06 A little life outside the tabs

I'm still a filmmaker at heart. I like cars, long drives, travel, good conversations, thoughtful products and losing myself in a new idea. I have plenty of screenshots of dashboards; these are more fun.

07 People I'd love to meet

I’m always looking to meet ambitious builders and operators. Beyond collaborating or hiring, I actively back and acquire businesses in areas where we can create real value together. Particularly:

🚀
Founders who want their idea to travel
Especially in technology, AI, software, startups and consumer internet.
⚡
Exceptional operators
I’m especially interested in builders working on education, marketing, and content distribution. I actively invest in and acquire businesses in these spaces — whether you’re starting something new or scaling what already works.
🎬
Creators, filmmakers and editors
Especially people with unusual taste, strong ideas and curiosity about what's next.
✳
Good people with a point of view
I'm happy to talk even if we don't know exactly what we might build together.

08 Say hello

Most of the interesting things in my life started with a conversation. If there's something you're excited about, I'd love to hear it.

Have an interesting idea?
